Thinker DAO Current Projects

Thinker DAO can be used as an intellectual property (IP) system that encourages reuse and improvement. For small countries where negative property rights for IP is not as important, the positive incentive system of Thinker DAO could create a highly productive innovation hub. We are working on piloting such a system with a sovereign.

Packages of technology can improve the cash flows of real assets such as agriculture, energy, transportation, real estate, logistics, and manufacturing. But advanced technologies are virtually impossible to access and manage for such real asset owners. Tech ERA is a system that derisks technology packages, creating a win-win of cash flow value for real asset owners and equity value for technology companies. Thinker DAO is a key component of this system.

Real asset owners are averse impairment to their underlying assets. Limited margins in the cash flows of real assets mean that failed technology deployments can have material downside to the real asset owner. We are working with insurance partners to define an insurance product that mitigates the risk of failed technology deployments for qualified packages of technology, thereby creating more opportunity for technology deployments and improved economics for real assets.

Generative AI increases the ability reuse media assets by more than a million-fold, enabling the on-demand and customized creation and merging of media assets such as voices, likenesses, characters, behaviors, worlds, and narratives. Thinker DAO is a system that manages transactions, economics, use tracking, and appropriate use contracts in one unified system. This is needed for modern asset management in the world of Generative AI.

Thinker.DAO creates innovation ecosystems through incentives connecting diverse parties together to pursue a common goal. ACME Foodworks connects the million-strong talent base in food creatives who seek new ingredients and techniques, the social media food influencers who seek new foods, and the historically-unprecedented number of new ingredients that seek new applications, creating a win-win-win system of new food innovation that might revive a challenged consumer food industry.

Standard accounting practices in GAAP and IFRS create disincentives for corporations to spend on innovation, as most of the expense is lost from the balance sheet. Normative accounting is a path to create corporate balance sheet incentives for innovation ranging from general R&D to targeted goals such as carbon net zero. Thinker DAO can be used as the tracking and value confirmation system for such projects.

We designed an open market system that has the correct properties to  allow the creation of scalable exchanges and, in particular, derivative products from innovation asset rights. While we do not expect to deploy this in the first iteration of the Innovation Marketplace, it illustrates the depth and pipeline of thinking in how to create a healthy and sustainable asset class for innovation, and the extensibility of the ThinkerDAO protocols.

ThinkerDAO can enhance the open-source ecosystem:

1. Contribution Rewards: Productivity is rewarded, encouraging consistency and quality.
2. Funding: Projects can be capitalized, accelerating evolution.
3. Governance: CoG architecture enables a diversity of decision-making protocols.
4. Collaboration: CoG can facilitate collaboration between different projects.
5. AI: ThinkerDAO data can train AI models to guide and optimize resources.
6. Solving Global Problems: ThinkerDAO can scale projects to address global issues.

AI converts data from undifferentiated elements of information into knowledge and context. The underlying data is lacking two key properties to make it into a foundation for trustable Artificial Intelligence:

1. It does not track and manage the propagation of bias; and
2. It does not reliably credit the value of data elements used.

Thinker DAO creates an infrastructure for both. Both issues are intractible without the benefit of hindsight and contribution incentive, key features of Thinker DAO.

By mid-2023 Generative AI inspired debate over negative effects of fast, high quality, user-driven reuse of digital assets. Media reports many examples of misuse.

We propose a system of three core concepts governing how digital assets are combined: 

1. Trustable backtracking of their evolution, 
2. Formalization of incentives including non-economic, and 
3. Interoperable ecosystem of diverse incentive systems encouraging experimentation which enables policy to be productively attached.

There is a growing unease at the unintended consequence of "winner take all" digital asset economics paired with algorithms that seek relentless optimization in a digital world with universal access to limitless catalogs of assets.

This creates economic insecurity for creators facing inequtiable concentration of wealth, an ever-growing base of competition for new entrants, and no path to reliable annuities.

Thinker DAO enables creation of financial instruments that can mitigate these issues.
