This is the Litepaper, which is an abridged form of the longer Whitepaper which is very long, boring, and still in draft. We welcome questions and comments including requests for the longer whitepaper.
Our vision is that the most important problems of the future are larger than any one organization can solve. All problems that can be solved by single organizations like startups or corporate or academic R&D will be solved by the current innovation system. What remains are the problems too difficult for the current system.
Such problems require an innovation ecosystem that encourages collaboration at a massive scale, one that could in theory involve a million contributors and tens of thousands of technologies, all evolving in many directions, succeeding, and failing in a "coopetition" to solve key problems. This will also require a system amenable to analysis and improvement from computation and AI.
Thinker.DAO is not just about technological innovation, but also innovations in the use and evolution of media, code, and data assets. The rise of Generative AI illustrates the power of a system that can incentivize productive collaborations between all types of innovation assets, people, and AIs. We think of all such collaborations as "innovation": evolutionary improvement and discovery of value from many assets and their combinations.
A key challenge is how to create a fair and transparent system that manages all of the following in a single unified system: 1) the transaction or deal, 2) the economic and non-economic incentives and terms, 3) the usage tracking, and 4) the appropriate and permitted use restrictions for the asset(s). Only by managing all of these factors can one create an appropriate incentive ecosystem for the combination of assets. This litepaper describes how Thinker.DAO formalizes such an innovation ecosystem using blockchain and zero-knowledge proof technology. Importantly, this system also will allow machine learning and Generative AI to reason over the myriad combinations that build innovation value and improve outcomes.
Thinker.DAO is based on a real-world protocol developed and proven upon nine hundred global innovation projects over ten years involving thousands of contributors, including for customers such as PepsiCo, Hyundai, NEC, Nestle, Honda, GE Aerospace, ENN, Funai, Vanke, Meat and Livestock Australia, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and many others. The goal of Thinker.DAO is to formalize the real-world protocol and experiences into an automated fair governance system that can achieve planetary scale.
