The founding principles of our global mission to improve the human condition

We as innovators and global citizens, in our desire to create a more perfect world, have determined it helpful to declare our key principles under which we hope to unify in mutual self-interest all parties around the world interested in innovation.  In our principles we hold that: 

Innovators are not just scientists and technologists, but artists, policy makers, investors, businesspeople, students, educators, and any human who participates, promotes, and otherwise assists the process of identifying problems and making practical solutions that better the world. 

Innovation is key to the future of the world, and mindful progress is the clearest path for innovators to resist the degradation of humanity by war, disease, poverty, injustice, pestilence, pollution, tyranny, and the harmful use of technology. 

Innovations must be created, packaged and deployed such they are all of: useful, usable and valuable. Innovations must have all three of these characteristics to have meaning and impact. 

Problems and solutions constantly evolve, and that innovation is about embracing constant change and diversity in the problems, solutions, mechanisms, processes, governance, skills, economies, and people involved in innovation.

Hope, optimism, open mindedness, cooperation and risk taking are fundamental to innovators and principles to be cherished and supported.

All companies and organizations should have the right to hold dialog with the innovators all over the world, to perfect our mutual understandings of the problems, incentives and solutions available and available for development. 

The public at large should have practical access to understanding the innovation problems, incentives and solutions; that science and technology should be open to public opinion, stake holding and participation, and this must be balanced with the need for privacy and proprietary rights to stimulate and reward risk taking and investment without creating systems of rampant speculation which damage outcomes and trusted cooperation. 

Innovators should have the right to cooperate and compete to create the best inventions, products, and businesses. They have the right to participate in the risk and rewards of the economics of their solutions fairly, transparently, and without “Hollywood Accounting.”

We support the rule of law and justice to protect the weak against abuse by the strong, to create incentives and rewards to motivate hard work and cooperation over stasis and conspiracy, to tilt the balance away from short-term opportunism toward long-term investment and risk taking, and to create a fair and level playing field for innovation, but we also never support the misuse of the rule of law and justice to extort or harm.

We hold these principles to form the foundation of a world where innovators can pool their unique and diverse resources, whether ideas, knowledge, finance, policy, or human, to find common cause to better the world.
